Community Diagnostic Centre in Shoreham open and welcoming patients

The Shoreham CDC at Southlands Hospital, funded by NHS England’s national CDC programme, is part of an ongoing commitment to improving diagnostic care across the region.

By providing localised, patient-friendly facilities, these centres ensure that people can access planned diagnostic tests without having to travel to larger hospitals in Brighton, Worthing, or beyond.

Additionally, having these services outside main hospital sites helps to minimise the risk of cancellations due to urgent cases, making care more consistent for those awaiting diagnosis.

Since the first CDCs opened in Sussex in 2021, more than 500,000 diagnostic appointments have been completed across the region. In addition to providing high-quality, timely diagnostics, the centres are helping to reduce health inequalities by offering services in convenient locations, making health checks, scans, and tests more accessible for all.
