Your health, Your Community Event

Places Leisure, Mid Sussex Older Peoples Council and Healthwatch West Sussex are hosting a ‘Free’ Community Event at The Kings Leisure Center, East Grinstead, (RH19 3LN) on Monday 31st October between 11.30 am and 1pm.

Come and find out what is happening at The Kings Leisure Center. Opportunity to meet some of your local community groups to discuss how they might support you, pick up information leaflets about other organisations who can support.

Opportunity to see what MSOPC does and can do for you.

Carers Support West Sussex
Information and support available for family and friend unpaid carers who are looking after someone with a long-term illness, disability, or frailty. We provide information and guidance along with practical and emotional support. We want to help solve financial concerns or alleviate the often-felt feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Citizens Advice
Information on how to access Citizen’s Advice services and providing general advice on cost of living.

Mid Sussex Voluntary Action
Works with charities and community groups, to provide information and guidance. It also promotes and encourages volunteering to engage local people to take an active part in their local community.

NHS Nurses prevention and Assessment Team

Healthwatch West Sussex
We have a simple ambition to make local health and social care services better for people that use them. We are here to listen, take action and influence positive change for local people living in West Sussex.

Age UK
Providing information about their services to support people aged 50+ to love later life and to help reduce isolation and loneliness.

Information about their exercise classes, cooking classes, activities, events, drop in café, day centre, respite for carers, healthy lunches, Rainbow meals on wheels home delivery.

Community Transport Sussex
Providing information about Community Transport and other services.

Alzheimer’s Society
Dementia awareness, Information, services in West Sussex to support people with dementia, their carer and family.

Apetito
Promoting their meals service, keep well this winter with a nutritious hot meal delivered straight to your door. Our daily safe and wellbeing will also help to keep you or your loved ones safe and well during the colder months.

GamCare (information)
Providing advice and support for anyone affected by gambling related harm.

Tapestry Luncheon Club
We support older people in our communities through small lunch clubs in our fully trained hosts own homes. A home cooked lunch, activities and transport is all included. Once a week, every week, which provides much needed respite for our guest’s carer and a fun day for our guests.
